The Arthritis Research Centre of Canada

Last year Macdonald Realty made a $20,492.50 gift to the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in this country, costing Canadians more than $4 billion each year in health-care expenses and lost productivity.  It disables more people than any other disease, including cancer, heart disease, respiratory conditions, and spinal cord trauma. There are over 100 types of arthritis which include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and gout just to name a few. The funds that were donated have been designated for a Fellowship to research Spondyloarthritis.

The Vancouver Hospice Society

In response to the critical need for additional hospice and palliative care beds in the Vancouver area, the Vancouver Hospice Society is raising $4.5 million to create a new freestanding hospice in our community, the first on the west side of Vancouver. Macdonald Realty Ltd. donated over $12,000 last year for this great cause.

BC Cancer Foundation

Macdonald Realty is pleased to have an ongoing partnership with BC Cancer Foundation. In the past we have donated over $15,000 to support the BC Cancer Foundation's research into palliative care, pain and symptom management. Recently through our annual company golf tournament, Macdonald Realty donated for an early detection of Lung Cancer Research.
